I am a proud member of the Coharie Indian Tribe from North Carolina. One of eight state recognized tribes. North Carolina has the largest American Indian population east of the Mississippi. I have the honor of taking photos and video clips during the American Indian Cultural/Traditional Art Forms classes given by traditional artists within the Coharie Tribe. The classes are provided by a partnership between the Coharie Indian Tribe, George Washington University (Dr. Elizabeth Warson) and the North Carolina Commission of Indian Affairs. Funding was provided through a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts. I truly hope this will enlighten any and everyone.
